Needs & Gap Services
The test can be administered 2 ways, Traditional Paper/Pencil test or an interview test. The two methods of delivery were developed because we have seen that the technician would know the information but would not know the terminology. So the Interview test was developed plus the interview test can encompasses hands on task such as troubleshooting electrical systems (power and control), plumbing pneumatic systems, and mechanical alignment/bearing removal.
The Interview test will start at the lowest cognitive domain (recall/recognition), can they recall the info or do they need to see choices. From there if the attendee gets the correct answer we will step into the next level comprehension. This will challenge the attendee to find their cognitive level on the desired information attained from the job descriptions. However, this is an intense interviewing process that will take 3-5 hours (depending on their knowledge level) to test each attendee.
The Paper/Pencil test will work on the same principles of basic question to more advanced questions, however terminology now plays a role. The nice concept for the paper/pencil test is that the same test can be used for a post test after the gaps are filled. This will give the attendee and management a clear level of their individual progress.
We have seen good results from both methods. The most cost effective is the paper/pencil test because it only requires a proctor verses a subject matter expert, is not as time consuming, and several attendee's can test at the same time. However the paper/pencil test will not give a cognitive level of the attendee but will ensure they attained the specific knowledge required from their job description.
Attached to this quote are the test principles that will be used for the development of the desired test format. The test principles (Needs) are developed by job descriptions and the meeting with Training Team. Please review and comment on any changes or additions. The test will be in the same layout as the list items. Within each of these list items will have approximately 5-10 questions, the questions will start at the lowest principle and work up to the most advanced principle within the section. When test are complete the scores will be structured by section, giving a clear demarcation point of their knowledge level on the subject matter.
- The firm bid quote for development of the tests to the specified job descriptions is $450 per test or $1,250.00 for three. The customer will have final approval on the tests & questions. This quote includes 3 one hour sessions reviewing the test with the subject matter expert on the attached list item's.
- Campbell Consultants can also develop with your subject matter expert specific test questions for your process equipment Ex, Utilities, EPA or DEP Process Equipment. This will be quoted as our consulting rate of $80 dollars an hour on site and $40 dollars an hour off site.
- The firm bid quote for proctoring and reporting the paper/pencil test is $115 per test session (3 hours max) and $30 per examinee for scoring/reporting.
- The firm bid quote for the interview test is the same as our on site consulting rate of $80 dollar an hour. Because of this test format we can not pin point how long it will take each individual, it entirely depends on their knowledge level. The more knowledge the attendee has the longer the test will be because we will ask more in-depth questions until they reach the highest level of competency on the subject matter.
